The Tintype is a variation of the collodion wet plate process developed in 1851. Tintypes are hand made images on a metal plate not necessarily tin and is a one off, the one image is an original and is the end product of the wet plate process. Excellent photos. These do remind me of old photos regarding the USA Civil War shown on TV. I think Ted has used the best of both times, doing wet mounts with 1850s technology, scanning these and being able to share using 21st century technology. – JohnC
