We took a road trip with the camper van into small town Saskatchewan and also took in the city experience of Regina for a couple days. We found the small towns the most interesting, some thriving some all but dead. Hiways and roads which tested the limits of the vans suspension with some stretches of nice blacktop, but for the most part the rural roads where broken and poorly maintained. But here is where we found the spirt of the west. The most towns seemed to have a Co-Op, a Church, and a Grain Elevator but not all.
Towns along hi way 44 were the best. Mantario, Eatonia, Wartime, Wiseton, Dinsmore etc. Later hi way 2 and 13 showed us there rural treasures, like Kincaid and Robsart. We stayed off the main roads up until we got to Maple Creek, but by then we were almost home and the last frame is crossing the border from Saskatchewan to Alberta.
Run and Gun is a photographic term that really just means grabbing shots and moving on quickly, but we’ll be back to spend more time on our faves.
